I haven’t done any kind of pottery since the age

I haven’t done any kind of pottery since the age of 13. But today we went to support a local artist who has opened her own pottery class studio in the gorgeous market town of Louth.
The lovely Charlotte at @boudicapottery showed us how to make these gorgeous little pumpkins for Halloween!
I literally had the best time! I could have stayed there all day! Supporting local artists and businesses like @boudicapottery means the absolute world to them. So please get creative this winter! Find a fun little class near you and it might even ignite a new passion!

Soaking in the Baroque architecture, hot hot sun, Mediterranean food and inspiration 🌞

You know how we love everything handmade!? Well I’ve been tracking down a couple of the best craftspeople in Malaysia during my visit. There are few examples of pottery studios on Langkawi so we had to make a visit to this little one today. The wonderful @ilham_ceramic creates some stunning pieces. I want a whole diner set but my suitcase simply won’t take it so one plate for the wall will have to do for now.
This studio was set in a beautiful courtyard of buildings covered in climbing flowers. The quaint shop was full of hand made treasures and the pottery studio was just next door, allowing a glimpse into the process. Plus, it is definitely worth grabbing an iced coffee and a slice of cake in their lovely cafe.
Ilham Ceramics also has a concession in the incredible Langkawi Craft Complex on the north coast of the island. TOTALLY worth a visit if you love all things hand made

If you know me, you know I can’t resist an antiq

If you know me, you know I can’t resist an antique shop. This GIANT thrift shop in Kota Kinabalu was such a fun little time killer to eat up an hour before our flight to Langkawi tonight. It was packed with second hand bits and bobs. I so wanted the oil painting in its original gilt frame but I think my suitcase would bust open!
Sadly we couldn’t track down a good antique shop in Sabah, Borneo. It seems there isn’t such a vast interest in second hand and reclaim as there is back home. Super sad. I did see some wonderful hand woven baskets and backpacks in a super cool tattoo parlour run by Lim (I’ll post pics soon). He had such a passion for historic craftsmanship. But after talking to him and others about handicrafts in Sabah, it seems like a lot of crafts are dying out and real antiques are like gold dust - mostly privately owned or shipped west. If you have anything at home, count yourself very lucky!!

A little peep behind the curtain! Our wallpapers are all designed in house at our Wildmore studio in the heart of Lincolnshire.
Floreo is one of our champion wallpapers. The original A2 watercolour artwork was created by Lauren as a half drop design. We love using more traditional processes of creating a repeat and often look to antique textiles for inspiration.

I would first like to thank everyone who voted for us in the Hoteliers Choice Awards. Each one of you made this exhibition possible for us!

Secondly, the wonderful team at Mulini Exhibition Services. I can’t describe how grateful I am to each member of the team! They helped every step of the way with design, construction and transport. I can not fault their expertise and passion for creating the perfect stand. Wildmore is a little different to their usual clients but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend working with Mathy, Lisa, Dan and the team to create an exhibition display! Definitely stress free!!! ❤️

A huge thank you to our fellow Hoteliers Choice Award winners @maleeonline @pethamper @consensusgroup and @savyllbeverageco for being such wonderful neighbours, advocates, creatives and just the best group of people to have shared the experience of our first trade show with!
